Dr. Hakan Şahin

Hakan Şahin was born in Istanbul in 1984. He graduated from Gebze Technical University with a degree in Computer Engineering, and from Istanbul University with degrees in Theology and Philosophy. He completed two master's degrees in Business Administration and Systems Engineering, and two doctoral degrees in Management and Organization and Islamic Economics and Finance.

Working as a project manager and consultant in the IT sector, Şahin has taken on managerial and consultancy roles in various organizations. In 2019, he completed his multidisciplinary doctoral study titled İktisadi ve Fıkhi Yönleriyle Para Üretimi, and published his work Riba ve Faiz in 2021. He has been continuing his academic studies as a faculty member for fifteen years.

Fluent in English, Spanish, and Arabic, Şahin gives lectures on information technologies, business administration, economics, management science, ethics, and the Islamic world, and works as a professional translator. He has articles in the fields of Islamic history, Islamic economics, political economy, and banking; he has three authored books, six translated books, and numerous authored and translated articles. He also gives seminars in national and international think tanks and continues his part-time private sector consultancy.
